About our Mercedes F1 Team News

Get the latest news on the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team, including driver updates, Grand Prix results, car upgrades and more from the best sources in world motorsport.

After a short stint in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship during the 1950’s, Mercedes returned to the sport in 1994 as an engine supplier which carried McLaren Racing and Brawn GP to respective World Championships.

The team then entered the sport as a constructor following the sale of Brawn in 2009 and have proved to be a dominant force ever since. The German team became a dynasty, winning eight consecutive Constructors’ championships in the turbo-hybrid era with Sir Lewis Hamilton breaking numerous records on his way to achieving seven Drivers’ Championships. During his time at Mercedes the British driver was joined by teammates such as Nico Rosberg, Valtteri Bottas and George Russell before he moved to Ferrari in 2025.

The current driver lineup includes British racer George Russell and Kimi Antonelli who joined the Silver Arrows at the age of 18. The team is led by team principal and CEO, Toto Wolff with Valtteri Bottas serving as the team’s reserve driver.
