F1 is an international open-wheel single-seater Formula auto racing competition and attracts fans from around the world. The competition's inaugural season was held in 1950 and consisted of just six races across Europe and North America. The motorsport series has since significantly grown and for the 2026 season will include 24 races across five continents.
Over the seven decades since its launch, Formula 1 has involved hundreds of different motor racing drivers including legends such as Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Alain Prost, Juan Manuel Fangio and Sebastian Vettel. British McLaren driver Lando Norris is the current World Champion, claiming his first drivers' championship title on the final race of the 2025 season.
