Founded in 1892, the Berlin based club play their home games at the Olympiastadion which is also the stadium used in the German Cup final each year. Hertha's club colours are blue and white which is a reference, like its name, to the Hertha steamship's smokestack. The team is known by locals as Die Alte Dame, which translates to The Old Lady.
