    About our Hunter Biden news

Latest news on Hunter Biden, an American lawyer and lobbyist who is the son of US President Joe Biden. He is a partner at Rosemont Seneca Partners, an investment advisory firm. He also served on the board of directors of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas company, from 2014 to 2019. In October 2020, the New York Post published a story about a laptop computer that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden and contained emails that suggested he had used his influence to help Burisma. The story sparked a controversy, with some people saying that it was part of a Russian disinformation campaign and others saying that it was a legitimate story.

Hunter Biden agreed to plead guilty to two counts of wilful failure to pay income tax and a separate federal firearm offense as part of a plea deal with the Justice Department in June 2023. He faces up to one year in prison and a $100,000 fine for each tax charge and up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the gun charge. The gun charge will likely be dismissed if he meets certain conditions, such as undergoing drug treatment and counselling.

On 14 September 2023, Hunter Biden was indicted by a special counsel in Delaware on three federal firearms-related charges, consisting of two charges for falsifying statements on a firearm application form and one charge for the prohibited possession of a firearm. On 11 June 2024, he was found guilty of three federal gun violations, becoming the first child of a sitting US president convicted in a criminal trial. Following the conviction, Hunter Biden's license to practice law in Washington, D.C., was suspended.
