Read the latest Diego Maradona headlines, 24-7, covering his legendary football career and life, from news sources around the world.

Born on 30 October 1960 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Diego Armando Maradona is regarded as one of the best football players in the history of the game. Maradona captained Argentina to World Cup glory in 1986, where his performances were widely acclaimed as being largely responsible for his team's success. He led Napoli to Italy's Serie A title on two occasions, the first time the club had been crowned Italian champions, at a time when the competition was regarded as the best football league in the world. Twice the world's most expensive player, Maradona began his career with Argentinos Juniors, going on to play for Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Sevilla and Newell's Old Boys. As a manager, Maradona coached several teams, including the Argentina national side at the 2010 World Cup. Maradona died on 25 November 2020, suffering a cardiac arrest.
