Jordan, officially known as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is country located in Western Asia. It is situated within the Levant region which sits strategically at the crossroads of the continents of Asia, Africa and Europe. The country shares borders with Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, the Palestinian West Bank and Israel. The nation's capital and largest city is Amman.
Jordan's landscape encompasses contrasting terrains, from the arid desert of the Jordanian Desert in the east to the fertile Jordan Valley in the west. Jordan is also home to unique natural wonders, such as the ancient city of Petra, which is carved into rose-red cliffs, earning it the nickname "Rose City."
