About our Digital Services Act news

Latest news on the Digital Services Act (DSA), a regulation passed by the European Union (EU) in 2022 to modernise the e-Commerce Directive and address issues such as illegal content, transparent advertising, and disinformation. It was submitted by the European Commission to the European Parliament and the Council in December 2020 and approved by the European Parliament in July 2022 and the European Council in October 2022. It was published in the Official Journal of the European Union in October 2022 and will go into effect on 1 January, 2024. Affected service providers, including popular online platforms and search engines, will have a period of time after being designated as such by the EU Commission to comply with the DSA's provisions.
