    About our CATL news

    Latest news on CATL, a Chinese company that specializes in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. It was founded in 2011 by Robin Zeng, who also founded ATL, a leading battery maker for consumer electronics.

    CATL is the world's largest battery manufacturer for EVs, with a market share of over 30% in 2021. It supplies batteries to major automakers such as Tesla, Volkswagen, BMW and GM. CATL has manufacturing bases in China and Germany, and R&D centers in China and Europe. It aims to increase its production capacity to more than 500 GWh by 2025 and more than 800 GWh by 2030.
