Latest news on Mortal Kombat 1, a fighting game and twelfth main installment in the Mortal Kombat series. The game features a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe that has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang, who is also the new Keeper of Time. The game has reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before, along with a new fighting system, game modes, and finishing moves. The game introduces a feature called Kameo Fighters, which will provide assistance to the player during fights.
The game released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on September 19, 2023. Some of the confirmed characters for the game are Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena and Kenshi, with Shang Tsung offered as a pre-order bonus. Six additional characters and five kameo fighters are planned for post-launch release via the "Kombat Pack" downloadable content.
