    About our Lab-Grown Meat news

Latest news on lab-grown meat, or cultured meat, a type of meat that is produced from animal cells without slaughtering animals. It is seen as a potential alternative to conventional meat that could reduce animal suffering, environmental impact, and health risks.

Upside Foods and Good Meat are two US companies that have received approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to sell their lab-grown chicken products in the US. They are the first companies in the world to get such approval, after Singapore granted permission to Good Meat in 2020.

Eat Just, the parent company of Good Meat, has been selling its lab-grown chicken nuggets in Singapore since December 2020, at a restaurant called 1880. The company has also partnered with another restaurant to offer its chicken in salads, dumplings, and fried rice. The company claims that its products are safe, nutritious, and delicious, and that they have received positive feedback from customers.
