    About our Enzo Fernández news

Latest news on Enzo Fernández, an Argentine footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Premier League club Chelsea and the Argentina national team.

Fernández made his first-team debut for River Plate in 2019 before spending two seasons on loan with Defensa y Justicia. During his time with Defensa y Justicia, Fernández won the Copa Sudamericana and Recopa Sudamericana. He returned to River Plate in 2021 and became an integral player for the team, helping them win the Argentine Primera División. In July 2022, Fernández joined Portuguese Primeira Liga side Benfica. He has also represented his country at the under-18 and senior levels.

Enzo Fernández was named in Argentina's 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. In the 57th minute of the team's match against Mexico, Fernández came on for Guido Rodríguez and scored his first international goal, which helped Argentina secure a 2-0 win. With this goal, Fernández became the second-youngest player ever (behind only Lionel Messi) to score a World Cup goal for Argentina at 21 years, ten months, and thirteen days old.
